Welcome, and thank you very much for your interest in Boulder Montessori School.
Nestled beneath the stunning Front Range, our school provides a nurturing, supportive environment guided by expert and credentialed teachers who honor each child’s individuality.
We cultivate children’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development while invigorating their curiosity and passion for learning. We adhere to a true Montessori curriculum and our carefully prepared, multi-age classrooms are bright and busy places of creativity and understanding. Here, children are actively exploring, gaining independence, and delighting in discovery. These profound lessons empower our learners for a lifetime.
As a diverse community led by involved parents and dedicated teachers, Boulder Montessori School is one of only a few select preschools in Boulder to be nationally accredited, recognized by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
We warmly invite you to take a personal tour of BMS, observe our classrooms, and explore our website. Please contact me with questions or to schedule a visit. Applications are accepted year-round and there are several scheduling options to choose from. On-site lunch and snacks are provided at no additional cost. Some scholarships are available in the spring for the following school year.
We look forward to meeting you and your family soon!
Amy Condon, Head of School
For over 40 years, Boulder Montessori School, the
second-oldest Montessori school in Boulder and one of the few schools in the region to earn two national accreditations, has provided outstanding early childhood programs for children ages 18 months to six years old.
Boulder Montessori School furnishes children with opportunities to exercise independence, employ decision-making skills, and build empathetic and cooperative relationships with peers and adults as they engage in creative, self-directed learning that is responsive to their individual interests and development.
Our exceptional teachers, many of whom have served the school for a decade or longer, are all highly trained and certified by the American Montessori Society (AMS) or the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). They lead the school in concert with our involved parents to foster a culture of caring and ensure a wonderful learning environment.
Our three bright and roomy preschool classrooms and large outdoor playground serve preschoolers ages 2 ½ to six years old. Designed in the Montessori tradition, classrooms are intentionally organized to inspire self-directed learning. Colorful and appealing educational materials are displayed on shelves accessible to all children, child-sized furniture is tailored to their needs, and there are individual and group work spaces at tables or rugs on the floor.
Our diverse staff and dedicated families foster a community mindset.
We prioritize the whole child by providing made-from-scratch lunches for our children and staff daily.
As a Montessori preschool, we encourage healthy independence and self-direction.
